Facts About (VGCF)
Voice for the Girl Child Foundation (VGCF) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2010 and committed to promoting girls education and rights through advocacy, capacity building and awareness creation. The organization also advocates against sexual and domestic violence on girls.
Over the years, we have added value with our programmes and interventions, VGCF has been able to open create in-roads on girls awareness of their status and values in communities across Nigeria through strategically and community based programmes. We have also intervened in bringing to the front burner with our “Speak up Campaign” issues of violence and abuse on the girl child and further made provisions for them to seek referrals to professional bodies for prompt and effective corrective action. VGCF in partnership with Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs has trained over one thousand girls on entrepreneurship, livelihood and skills acquisition programs. The VGCF is also an active participant in the domestication processes on UNSCR 1325, Child Act Right, Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition act in Plateau state.
