WISE-DEF is one of Nigeria’s lives changing youth organizations based in Jos, Plateau state. It was
founded in 2005 to inspire, empower and support especially young people with necessary ideas,
skills, information, materials towards individual, institutional and community development. It
started as a community based organization (CBO) in Bokkos LGA, Plateau state and later changed
status as Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) haven been registered with Corporate Affairs
Commission of Nigeria (CAC) in 2011.
WISE-DEF is committed to promoting Peace & Security, Food security, good governance and
Livelihood, advocacy, Citizens engagements, skills acquisition/empowerment, and capacity
building trainings, humanitarian support to victims of crises.
WISE-DEF is the Lead NGO on Participatory Budgeting Process under the Fiscal Transparency
Thematic Area of the Open Government Partnership, Plateau State.
