Derek Charles Joy Foundation is a Non- profit, Non-Governmental humanitarian focused Organization registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria by Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA) set ‘76 for the purpose of providing support to indigent members in the group and society at large. The Foundation is based on the principles, ideals, philosophy and works of Mr. Derek Charles Joy, a British missionary, teacher and one-time Principal of the famous Boys Secondary School (BSS), Gindiri. He was a philanthropist per excellence who offered support and scholarship to the indigent.
Our activities are tied to a number of developmental/ humanitarian focused objectives which are implementable through;
Relief Interventions (DRM);
Economic and Social Empowerment (IDPs, men, women and youths);
Adolescents and young adults education and awareness (drug and substance free activities, sex education, self-esteem, career choices- guidance and counseling, Scholarships, entrepreneurship etc);
Community based anti- drug abuse campaigns;
Medical Outreaches (Reproductive Health, Nutrition, NTDs);
Research, Awareness/ sensitization; Advocacy, Mobilization, Partnership and Networking strategies.
